Why kratos killed his family

Gojirablade - Yeah; even Mimir said in God of War when he realizes Kratos is the Ghost of Sparta that from what he'd heard, the Olympian Pantheon "had it coming". He did, I didn't use the comic's, but yeah The Pantheon definitely deserved the decimation, however the God's were petty and full of Fear themselves, likewise Odin is driven by the fear of outcome of the events after Ragnarok, he's afraid he's bound to lose a battle to Surtr, therefore doing whatever is requisite to change the effect of the events in the aftermath of the Ragnarok in his favour, notice how These God's act under Fear?

It's quite analogous. Normally I would agree that they had it coming but by killing them he doomed all of Greece. Killing a god has consequences. Killing posidion makes the seas flood all of Greece. Not by a little either it goes crazy. Killing Helios blots out the sun in Greece, killing Hades plunges the underworld into disarray.

And killing Zeus not only destroys Olympus it also presumably erases any chance fixing Greece. Helios screams in agony after his head is detached from his body. Naturally, the head of Helios becomes an item in the game, despite the God of the Sun being deemed dead. Hercules is the half-brother of Kratos since they share the same father: Zeus. Fans of the series and Greek mythology will remember that Zeus had many lovers. However, he was least proud of his son Kratos and took more of a shine to Hercules.

Like Kratos, Hercules killed his family and sought redemption by serving the Gods. As such, nothing would please Hercules or the Gods more than to rid the world of Kratos.

Hercules attacked Kratos with mighty fists while Kratos dealt an array of attacks. Stripped of his armor, Hercules threw sculptures at Kratos. Kratos finally takes the Nemean Cestus from Hercules and uses the weapon to beat Hercules to death.

The God of War game series is loosely based on Greek mythology, but take "based on" with a big grain of salt. In traditional Greek mythology, Hera is the jealous wife of Zeus. In this case, the character of Hera is somewhat accurate because she shows jealousy towards Zeus' offspring and is the Goddess of Marriage.

While in a drunken stupor, Hera makes a fatal mistake by calling Pandora "that little whore. That's a grim ending for a goddess that fans didn't really get to know at all. As a character who tricked Kratos Zeus' own son into thinking they were allies, many fans feel that Zeus deserves his ill-fated conclusion at the end of God of War III.

In fact, much of Kratos' frustration and hostility towards the Gods stems from his relationship with his father. The two powerhouses face off in a heated battle between father and son. But Kratos finishes the deed by beating Zeus to a bloody pulp with his bare hands not unlike how he defeated Hercules. In the game series, Hephaestus traditionally known as the Greek God of Forges, Metalworking, Fire, and more is a bit of a dark horse in Olympus.

He used to be married to Aphrodite but has since been imprisoned in an Underworld Forge by Zeus after a beating that left the forge master mutilated. Kratos merely needed his help with a quest, but Hephaestus betrays him for the sake of his artificial daughter Pandora. Kratos only kills him after Hephaestus attempts to kill Kratos first, by electrocuting him then impaling him through the heart.

Throughout the latest entry into the God of War franchise, Modi and his half-brother Magni follow their uncle, Baldur, to locate and murder Kratos. OK, Kratos served Ares for a while, 'cause he, you know, sold his soul to him. While serving Ares, Kratos is made to kill, kill, kill, kill, burn things down on occasions, and kill.

Ares then causes Kratos to kill his family, and the village oracle fastens the ashes of his family to his skin, giving him his white skin.

Kratos, being pissed off at and betrayed by Ares, decides to serve the other gods, with Athena acting as his patron goddess. He serves them for 10 years until he eventually kills Ares, by their orders, and takes his throne. Now, when do you think this game takes place? Seriously, how could you forget about this year period, especially when Kratos clearly stated that he served the gods for 10 years in the beginning of GOW?

A belated entry into graduate school or bust. Well, maybe a decent alternative could be fine. I haven't played the first one in a year, and the magazines and G4 said it was before his family was killed.

Either those magazines and G4 made some embarrassing mistakes, or you didn't process the information carefully enough i. It's been over a year since I last played GOW, and I recall the year period of time quite vividly. Then again, being a college student, it's been necessary for me to develop and maintain solid memory processing abilities. I suppose I don't always reflect the norm. Since I'm currently taking Social Psychology, I also know that automatic processing is the norm for social interactions and general cognition.

It saves up mental processing power and prevents cognitive overloads. I'm guessing that a few sources have probably made the mistake of claiming that CoO takes place before Kratos kills his family, but I doubt that a lot of them have. At least, this is what I'm hoping.
