It's her wedding day. Like there's a rule or something? During Episode 7, Phoebe tells Joey that Monica used to have a crush on him when he first moved into the building. While Monica and Joey never get together even though that was the writers' original plan , it's revealed in Season 7 that when Monica ended up hooking up with Chandler in London, she had actually gone to his room looking for Joey.
In the first Thanksgiving episode, Ross is worried about talking to Carol's belly so their unborn baby can get to know his voice, and Phoebe suggests a plan for him to get used to the idea. He doesn't do it, but there are heads in turkeys to come. In the Season 5 Thanksgiving episode, both Joey and Monica are shown with their heads in very fake turkeys.
In Episode 11, Rachel gets inspired by Chandler's mom, who is an erotic novelist, and tries to write a book of her own. While this doesn't pan out, it is the first — but not last — time we hear about Rachel loving sexy books. In Episode 12, Rachel accidentally tells Ross that he and Carol are having a baby boy.
Then, all the way in Season 8, Ross reveals he and Rachel are having a girl, even though she's been trying to avoid finding out. In "The One With The Cheap Wedding Dress," Monica tries on a designer gown at an expensive store to make sure it's the one before she attempts to buy it at a discount store that's having a huge sale that weekend.
Monica recruits Rachel and Phoebe to help her find the dress at the discount store and together the three are equipped with whistles and sent into battle their way through bridezilla hell. Who could forget Monica tackling another bride to the ground after they reach for the same dress. While Monica was definitely a bit of bridezilla planning her wedding, she somehow becomes even more of a bridezilla after the wedding now that she has nothing to look forward to.
Monica's frustrations about no longer being a bride get the better of her until she realizes that she and Chandler can use the fact that they're on their honeymoon to her advantage.
Of course, this plan turns south when Monica and Chandler miss out on all the free upgrades to another newlywed couple. One of Monica's defining traits is the fact that she values cleanliness and orderliness. In fact, she regularly lashes out at her friends when they try to clean or organize her apartment on her behalf. Knowing all this makes the reveal that Monica has a secret junk closet all the more rewarding.
In the episode, Chandler becomes obsessed with learning what's behind the closet door Monica has never let him see. When Monica comes home to find the door open, she is devastated that Chandler has found out about her messy secret.
However, Chandler finds its endearing as do we; after all, everyone needs to be a little bit disorganized from time to time. The two-part season 9 finale has gone down in history as being one of the best Friends episodes of all time , but it also is one of Monica's best episodes of all time too.
Here, Chandler apologizes, and tells her that 'If I'm the best, it's only because you make me the best'. He may be talking about sex, but it's true for their relationship as a whole. Monica and Chandler's history stretches back to her high school days, when Chandler was Ross's college roommate and she and Rachel were best friends. This episode covers some of their earliest interactions in flashback, with Monica attracted to Chandler from the first time that she meets him.
Of course, Chandler doesn't feel the same until the next year, after Monica has lost a lot of weight While both these flashbacks show that there has always been something between these two, the really sweet moment is at the end, when Monica shows she would do anything for him - to the point that she literally puts a raw turkey on her head and dances around just to make him feel better.
Monica and Chandler manage to keep their burgeoning relationship a secret for an impressively long time, but this episode is where it all comes out - and in true Friends style, it has to involve some ridiculousness. In order to try and force Monica and Chandler to admit their relationship, Joey, Rachel, and Phoebe concoct a plan to have Phoebe 'seduce' Chandler.
Of course, it actually ends with Chandler bursting out that he can't, because he loves Monica - but his willingness to even go along with it in the first place shows how far he would go to make sure she is comfortable. This episode includes one of the sweetest lines between Chandler and Monica and that's saying something , after Phoebe insults her by calling her 'high maintenance'. Season 5 features some of the best episodes for Chandler and Monica. This installment sees Chandler admitting that he is an awkward lover and that Monica always brings out the best in him.
The interactions between Monica and Chandler illustrate how they are a perfect match, despite their faults. This episode features Joey finding out that Monica and Chandler are a thing.
Nobody else in the group knows about the romance, which leads to some hilarious scenes with Joey and the rest of the gang.
